报告摘要：

The talk will start with an introduction to Schlumberger, the largest service provider and technology leader for oil field services. Then some CFD applications in oil and gas services will be presented, including examples of multiphase flow, erosion modeling, thermal management, etc. Then the vision of CFD application in the industry will be discussed.

报告人简介：

Yong Chang got his bachelor degree from USTC in 1993 from Modern Mechanics Department, and the master degree from LNM, Institute of Mech., CAS in 1996. He then obtained his Ph.D. from Rice University in 2000. After that he joined Schlumberger in 2000. He worked on various engineering projects from wireline tools to drilling, LWD, completion and production. He is now a principal engineer of the modeling and simulation CPE in Sugar Land specialized in CFD, computational programming, mathematical modeling, system modeling, and simulation driven design, with expertise on drilling and production fluid flow, erosion, thermal management, formation pressure and sampling, drilling engineering and drillstring vibration, and acquisition system.
